Portabello's Italian Bistro - Moffat

Went for my 5 year anniversary with my boyfriend : We had asked to do a half and half on one pizza since it wasn’t that busy they allowed it. But they surprised us with 2 that we could bring some home and continue to enjoy our amazing food spending the rest of the night together the food was so good and the staff is so kind that we decided this is our new favourite date night spot! Can’t wait to go back!

We went for dinner last night as a group of 8. Took about 10 min to get seated and everyone seemed busy but pleasant. Sat on the patio. Waitress was very cold and not personable at all, didn’t give her name or anything. Had to flag her down to get another drink. Food came out for 4 of us after about 40minutes and didn’t come out for the other 4 for another 15 min or so, most of us were almost done eating. No apologies for the delay of even acknowledging it. Was looking forward to a nice meal out with friends and was very disappointed in the lack of service and professionalism.

If you are looking for authentic Italian food, this is the place for you! Great service, great music and of course exceptional food. The owners are always friendly and accommodating, and the owner Mario is very attentive to tables requests. Highly recommend if you are looking for a tasty meal!

I can’t review the food because we didn’t even get the appetizer (spinach dip) after over 30 minutes of waiting, even though they were not busy and there was only one other table on the patio. The coke was flat. The service was apalling. The hostess was not very welcoming and didn’t have a friendly demeanor. The waitress didn’t even introduce herself and was very cold and uninterested in doing her job. She took our order and then disappeared after getting us the drinks, not even bothering to check on us every few minutes or at least have the courtesy to let us know that our food is being prepared (which is the bare minimum for a waitress). If you expect to be taken care of as a customer, don’t come here.

I used to LOVE portobellos but something has definitely changed in recent months. The food came out cold and dry. The booster chair was dirty. The waitress was trying her best but unfortunately wasn’t able to help much. I asked for my food to be remade or even warmed up and she said the kitchen is busy so i would have to wait about 20 mins. I had my two kids with me and it already took 30 minutes to get my food. I really couldn’t wait another 20mins. I was also a bit confused because it was not even busy. The last two times has been the same experience and I’m disappointed because Portobello’s used to be my favourite : . I wouldn’t recommend this time around.
