Menu meals are great value and really well presented. The location is also excellent with amazing views out to see and down to Moeraki township. Well worth the visit. It also has an excellent gift shop. Overall would recommend a visit to the boulders and the restaurant. View all feedback.
Stopped by here for lunch and was left feeling full and satisfied. We ordered a pumpkin soup, single fish fillet with chips, fish burger, and a squid rings kids meal. The prices seemed too much at first but the quantity of the dishes were worth it.<br/ <br/ Their fish was fresh and the batter was crunchy and importantly didn't turn out too thick or oily as it often does with fish and chips. I thought the burger was very well made, with several ingredients whose flavours melded together in your mouth. There was a lot of sauce which made everything creamy.<br/ <br/ Squid rings were nicely crumbed and deep fried not overdone so that it was hard but it was still crispy. There were only 4 and the rest were chips, so it could've done with a couple more with less chips.<br/ <br/ The pumpkin soup was your average pumpkin soup, but hearty and comforting all the same.

My husband and I had a weekend in Moeraki and had lunch here. We enjoyed the friendly service as well as the food and of course the view. My husband had the seafood platter a very large meal nicely presented with lots of different seafood while I had the Blue Cod Burger a large burger with fresh cod, we both really enjoyed our meals and great coffee too.
Love this place, such a great setting and a good selection of food on the menu. Have tried lots of dishes as they do cabinet food as well as main meals, have never been disappointed. My last visit I had the Chicken Wrap which is delish a nice combination of chicken, streaky bacon, brie cheese, spinach and aoli. They do a nice gluten free version of the chicken wrap but in a gluten free garlic pita. Although its the blue cod which is pretty hard to beat, great story on Country Calander recently about Moeraki Blue Cod being cooked at the Moeraki Boulders Cafe. Well worth a stop if you're in the area.
We often stop here on our way to north. We always have the Fresh Moeraki Blue Cod and the Seafood Chowder, both awesome!. Nice atmosphere on a sunny day to sit out on the deck and look down towards to the Boulders, or on winters days in front of the open fire. Friendly service.
