I loved how the rice had a nice mix of sauce and parmesan cheese in it. I really can't stand when the rice is just dry. There was also a lot of ground beef inside as well as mozzarella, peas and hard boiled egg. It's so nice to have a consistent delicious taste of ingredients with every single bite and not just a mouth full of rice like we get in America. I must also warn you that the rice balls in Sicily are not balls but cones. I believe they are like this because it makes them easier to eat as you walk down the street. I'm use to the cones because that is how everyone in my family has always made them. Modica has some great street food and arancini is one of them. The best part is that you can walk around and order arancini at several restaurants until you find the one that you love. This place is a great place to start with your rice ball adventure. Good luck and I hope you find the perfect rice ball...I mean rice cone!
