Las Casuelas - Modesto

The food here is absolutely delicious. Everything I've tried so far has been great, and I must say, the salsa is fantastic—I've had to resist munching on too many chips! Unfortunately, the service has declined in recent years. It's often slow and inconsistent. When my family dines here, our meals arrive at completely different times, to the extent that one person might finish eating while another is still waiting for their plate. We frequently find ourselves without cutlery and end up waiting about 10 minutes after our meals are served to get them, even after asking for them earlier. Regrettably, this has happened more than once. The food remains the saving grace of the restaurant and is one of the main reasons we continue to come back.

The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the menu offers a nice variety. However, the tortillas were a bit tough, the steak was flat and lacked seasoning, and the chips were nearly stale. On a positive note, the beer was excellent.

Great service and delicious food! We often visit during our lunch break, and the service is always quick while the food is consistently tasty. Most of the dishes I've tried have been excellent, but my favorite has to be the Chile con carne. I also appreciate that they provide chips with beans and salsa as soon as you arrive. Thank you!

Staff is so friendly everything we come. We had 4 in our party and 2 were delayed about 45 min due to a flat tire. Some restaurants may say we need this table . Not here, they said take your time, no hurry, very accommodating and didn 't try to rush us at all even though they were packed and probably could have used our table.

We stopped by for a quuck late lunch, about 2pm. The dining and bar areas were occupied by about 3 to 4 tables in each. Our table only came with menus, no flatware or napkins. Beverages were asked for and brought in a few moments with chips and salsa w/frijoles. 20m later our order was taken; Taco Salad and a Steak Fajita salad. Long story short, 20m later Fajita salad was terrible. The steak was overcooked and burnt. The taco salad was even less than mediocre, which is difficult, and they did it. The service was no where to be seen aside from the three times they came to the table, and one of those was to deliver our drinks... Nope not again. Avoid this location, there are WAY better restaurants close by.
