Chef Jay e... read more I give this restaurant a full five stars for every part of the experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the bartender, Mike, was fantastic. Chef Jay even came out to talk with us and prepared an amazing dessert. The drink specials were such a delight that we couldn't resist ordering them again. I've dined in numerous restaurants across the country, and this one stands out as one of my absolute favorites for both food and experience. It's definitely the best restaurant in Modesto and would rank among the top in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York City!

The baked brie appetizer was not a bread-crusted baked mini wheel but a total of 3 tablespoons of melted Brie in a small bowl topped with some berry marmalade (most of the bowl was filled with strawberry jam it felt like). We get it that things cost more these days but this is low-rent trickery; sad really.To be fair though the service was good, they have an excellent wine list and the decor/layout of the bar area is perfect for a nice evening out with your loved ones. I’d still come back here but just for drinks cocktails. Vegetarian options: Uninspired overpriced vegan options.

The pasta dishes left much to be desired and were overly greasy; it seemed the chef's idea of flavor was simply butter. While I understand that prices have gone up lately, this felt like a low-budget trick. On a positive note, the service was good, the wine list is excellent, and the bar area's decor and layout create a lovely atmosphere for a night out with loved ones. The food is fantastic and a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. They also have an impressive wine list (though I was disappointed to see the wine tasting bar next door closed). I highly recommend the baked Brie, filet mignon, and chocolate XTC. I would have given this place five stars, but the cocktails fell a bit short. My daughter could really help your bartender out with her expertise in crafting a variety of martinis that aren't overly sweet! She’s wonderful at it! (By the way, she’s joining the Air Force in a month, so consider hiring her for a quick class!)

I had our two kids show up at the end for desert to surprise my wife. They quickly had a table for four set up for us in the wine shop. We all enjoyed our dessert and had some quality family time.
