I am so puzzled by the great reviews of this place. We stayed at Hotel Europa and after a long day of site seeing, decided to eat here per their recommendation. The lasagna was dreadful…essentially had the consistency of pudding/gelatine which was rather unpleasant — ordered and confirmed by 3 others at our table. The tortellini in broth was bland. We spent 2 weeks in Italy and this was one of the most expensive dinners we had and one of the most disappointing.
This is the place to get to Modena. It was so good that we came here two nights in a row. Very professional staff, great ambience and especially good food. Would highly recommend the antipasto if you were looking for a traditional antipasto. Gnocchi is also sensational. Price is not a factor if you have such good quality. Five stars!
Quality food, good service. We had a dinner as recommended by the hotel. After dinner we asked her to book a table for the day after that, as it was such a good experience. The staff was very attentive and friendly and served food felt intense and special. I was more impressed by the pasta than the meat, but I think that's just a personal preference. Prices are not among the cheapest in town, but food and service are worth it
We were recommended here by our hotel (Best Western Milano) next door, unaware they were partners. They were claimed to be the best in the area around the block, but after discovering the partnership it raised a red flag. The food overall was average at best with half of the main plates over-salted or drenched in too much sauce (we were a party of 5 and got 6 plates). Mixed antipasto plate and mixed tortellini were good, avoid the gnocchi and steak. Service was poor and inattentive. Did not serve main plates together, and was about 30 minutes between antipasti and primi/scondi. Overall would recommend here if you are tired and living nearby. Otherwise venture 6 minutes to the piazza and try something else.
We had a large party of 10 people, one got the gnocchi and there was a live worm in it. Mistakes happen and it would have maybe been ok if they apologized, but the waiter told the table of 10 who all saw the live moving worm that it was not a worm and just cheese. He argued and tried to give the food back. Terrible dirty food and bad service!
