Update September 2016: the quality of the food has only improved. People should be flocking here. Modbury is full of mediocre Indian restaurants and this is NOT one of them - this place is the real deal.
_____________________So good.... This place is special. The curries are excellent, but special mention goes to the naan breads, which are perfectly made and so delicious, especially the cheese naan. The menu is... View all feedback.
What Ed Jerde doesn't like about Surya Indian Cuisine:
butter huh and chicken corma were decent. beautifully made pappadums. but the saffron was not saffron at all. it was low grade basmati rice with orange food coloring. otherwise we enjoyed our meal. View all feedback.
Amazing food, great staff and great prices!!!!!! Don't be off out by the location and squishy parking, this place is a must try!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hidden gem. It's not fancy but it is hearty and good quality. Creamy dishes their best area - without leaving you feeling bloated an hour later. Quite quick on the turn around for take away too - normally about 20 minutes.
By far the best Indian Restaurant in Modbury. Delicious food at a very reasonable price, staff also very accommodating, will definitely be back.
Good value for money with delicious food. Usually have plenty of leftovers with take away. Atmosphere a little lacking but friendly staff. Definitely will go back
Ok... Indian in Modbury - you are spoilt for choice. This one, in my opinion, is the best in the area. Cheese naan a must. Lamb and goat dishes are great. Don't be fooled by the run down set of shops it is in, this place is a hidden winner. Also, it's halal certified if that's your thing.
