This is one of the best taco places I've ever been to! Maistortillas offers a wide variety of options such as tongue, liver, chicken, chorizo, barbacoa, and more. The service is quick, although it's best to avoid going at night when it's busy. The tacos are served traditionally with cilantro, onion, and lime, unlike other Mexican restaurants. They don't serve chips and salsa because that's not a real Mexican custom, and they also don't have queso on the menu. Overall, this is now my go-to spot for tacos! They also offer traditional drinks like horchata, hibiscus, and tamarind juices, as well as jarritos and Coca-Cola in glass bottles. Definitely a must-try place!
Let me tell you, the Mexican food here is incredibly delicious! My wife said her shrimp tacos were the best she had ever eaten. She also enjoyed her Barbacoa taco. I had lengua, chicharron, and carnita tacos, all of which were fantastic and served in double corn tortillas with cucumbers and radishes on the side. Don't neglect the sauces on the table - they add so much flavor to the tacos. The taste explosion in your mouth, especially when you mix the green and red sauces together, is fantastic. The flavor is intense, but the heat is moderate. I also ordered a steak tostada, but I couldn't finish it because I was too full - we had to leave for an appointment. It was topped with fresh vegetables, cheese, and crema. My wife still raves about her shrimp tacos and wants to plan another trip to try more dishes. I would put this place on par with El Asador, Taco Mex, and Taqueria Olgy's - it could even surpass them. Make sure to check out this place when you're in Mobile.
