During a road trip through Mitchell, we stopped in the city around midday in search of a place to eat. We came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try based on the reviews. It turned out to be a great choice. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was quick. We sat at a table under an umbrella and found it very comfortable. What User doesn't like about Hungry Dog:
Black Cherry was amazing! We tried the Denver omelette and chili dog. The cheese sauce on the Denver was really delicious. However, I wasn't a fan of the chili as it was too overpowering. The portions were generous and the service was great. We will definitely be returning. View all feedback.
Home made hotdogs. Tasteful creations to satisy any craving! everything they serve is made there. we talked to the owner and he has plans for even more tasty items. In the summer there is outdoor seating!
Probably the worst hot dog I’ve ever had. Looked nothing like a Chicago dog. The meat on the inside looked foreign and it was hard. The bun was cold and gigantic. The counter was nasty. Worse place ever.
I had purchased the Texas Tangler burger and the fried pickles with ranch to go.Holy deliciousness. The burger itself was good but the toppings are what made it the next level. Loved the Cajun mayo. Friendly staff. Will definitely have to stop the next time I travel through Mitchell and try more menu items.

We are on vacation and stopped in to see the Corn Palace in Mitchell South Dakota. We were hungry and decided hot dogs sounded good, but wait…the homemade onion rings were the bomb! Yum Yum !
