Papa Joe's - Missouri Valley

The bartender at Papa Joe's is incredibly kind and welcoming. She clearly enjoys her job and cares about the customers. She even goes the extra mile to make food at home for bikers who may be hungry since the bar doesn't have a kitchen. Her ham and corn chowder is delicious! The restaurant has a great selection of cold beers and a laid-back atmosphere. I would highly recommend Papa Joe's and will definitely be returning. The price per person ranges from $1 to $10.

This is a wonderful place to take a break and enjoy a refreshing drink on your journey. The bartenders are entertaining and create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

The restaurant had a quiet evening, but the company of the locals was wonderful. The food was delicious and there was a wide selection of drinks available. The bartender was skilled and knowledgeable in mixing drinks.

Met up with some friends last Saturday night for my birthday and it was awesome, drinks are affordable and is friendly and everyone is nice.. I feel and felt very comfortable. Bar tenders are awesome and friendly and servers are always coming back to our table and cleaning up and asking if we needed anything.

Favorite Hangout... back in the 70's! Went to HS in Missouri Valley and had a horribly made fake ID, which was used regularly at Papa Joes. The owner, Dean Dewaele, founded it in the early 70's? Just looked him up and unfortunately he passed away in 2012. Back then, Papa Joe's had live bands when Led Zeppelin, The Who, BTO, Black Sabbath, Chicago, Yes, and many more ruled. Smoke filled stage, lots of long hair, and Levis jean jackets. It was quite the happening place 50 years ago, and I'm happy it's still going strong today.
