I was initially apprehensive because it looked like a fast food outlet, but i turned into a believer in no time. The order was placed easily, the food came on time, and boy was it great. Amazing value View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Watan Kabob:
Of all the Afghan restaurants in the area, this is my favourite based on quality of food. Every meal is made fresh and very tasty. However the service is questionable. The restaurant does well so it's very busy. They have a lot of people working there but not sure if they are being utilize properly. They do try to provide good service but they seem to struggle with it. My recommendation is to take the food to go. View all feedback.

Tuesday night at 8:30 in August was busy in the restaurant and many others were waiting for takeout. I didn't expect it to be so busy so early in the week...obviously a popular place.Beef Tikka Kabobs with rice/salad/naan $11.99Sea Bass with just salad and naan...also $11.99.Sea Bass was outstanding...hot, fresh, nicely spiced and good texture.Beef Tikka Tenderloin Kebobs were not as tender as expected, but still tasty.Generous salads with each.Wow, the long, paddle-shaped naan was delicious! Hot and fresh. It reminds me of Persian flatbread.Decor is tastefully modern/simple.Lots of families. When you walk in to the restaurant, you smell good food.We are Greek, but since we like spicy food, we will be back to try other dishes at this Afghan grill.
We visited tonight (Sunday night at 6:30.) There was a short line-up. The wait-time to order was about 10 mins, to get our food about 20 mins.We ordered the chablee kabob (minced spiced beef patties) which comes with a lightly spiced rice, lightly dressed garden salad and a fluffy tasty naan; a tandoori chicken kabob which comes with the same salad and naan; a side order of seasoned french fries and 2 cans of pop. The total cost was $33. This was enough for both of us to have 2 very generous meals (we are saving the leftovers for lunch tomorrow). All of the food was very tasty and a bit on the spicy side. There are two sauces: red and white. The red definitely has a kick so be careful with that one!The seating area is not great. The decor is modern casual and is popular with families. The space between diners is tight and it almost feels like you're eating with strangers. I am not a fan of children who run around in public so I would not choose to eat on the premises again (I would just get take-out).Overall, what matters is the food and I give an enthusiastic thumbs-up. I will absolutely be back (for take-out.)
Really enjoyed the food here. The plates are very generously sized and are a good value. Just a heads up that this isn't a table service restaurant. You have to order at a counter and then pick up your tray when your order appears on the screen.
I highly recommend this restaurant. One of the best chappli kabobs I ever had. It's very busy and for good reason. Be careful when ordering one order will come with rice and afghani naan which are yummy by the way.
