Went there after reading the review by the Toronto Post on Samosa. I live in Burlington and there are no places to buy fresh samosa. These were really big, hand made. The filling was delicious, not spicy. Would recommend it. We took home 20 to share with the family. It comes with 2 types of chutney. View all feedback.
What Pattie Ortiz doesn't like about Sweet India Restaurant:
I like Sweet India because they can prepare Indian food with the Indian taste. Their sweets are too good.I specially like their Chaat type items. Their Samosa is very tasty, Chhole Bhature, Dhokla and even Tea has a great taste. They prepare fresh food and due to freshness, their taste is too good. View all feedback.
I ordered earlier from here until I found chat hut in the plaza next to this. when they eat, this place is much cleaner. they have a very inexpensive thiali and a few other veg options. they are very explicate when they are a vegan like me. there are milk in many of the items.
I have been enjoying lunches at this small, casual restaurant for over 15 years and look forward to coming here while back in Toronto area. I ate lunch there 2 days ago and the restaurant is undergoing a renovation so is in a temporary location a few doors down from primary location. Regardless of location, the food is great and very inexpensive and can be eaten in the restaurant or available as take away. There is also a wide selection of sweets (desserts) which can also be ordered in or to take away. This restaurant is not a place to go if you are expecting white tablecloths and table service but if you're looking for a fast, efficient, friendly, restaurant with great food that you order from the menu board up front, it's a great place to eat.
A friend introduced me to this place. I don't live near it but try to stop by when I am in the area because it is so GOOD! The samosas are plump and delicious! There are often line ups to get them but the line moves fast! I haven't had a chance to try their other dishes as I have to keep on my way but I wish I lived closer. Sadly the price has increased over the years. I miss when the samosas were 3 for a dollar so I could stock up! Definitely recommended and worth the visit!
