After reading the terrible review I thought I had better check if it had gone downhill since my review over a year ago. I am always sceptical about a reviewer who only does one review. I found the food just as good as before. I...don’t think they are cooking far in advance. It was busy just at the start of evening rush hour and I had to wait for a new batch of Bhindi Masala to come out of the kitchen. Fish Pakora was... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mr. India Haveli:
I have enjoyed great meals at this restaurant before, but lately they have been inconsistent. During my last visit, I ordered Samosas and Pakoras. The Pakoras were decent, but the Samosas were bland and not filled properly. Mr. India Haveli is conveniently located near my home. Although White Gold Sweets is no longer around, their food consistently outshines Mr. India Haveli. I think I will stick with White Gold for... View all feedback.
Worst place I have bought Indian food in Canada, was spoilt and had to be dumped in the trash just 3 hours after purchase.
This is not really a restaurant although you can eat there.Mostly it is for takeout and pretty good takeout. The hot food counter is located in Mr. India Grocer in a small plaza. The dishes are typical and authentic. It is like a buffet but with a limited choice. But the specials change every day. There is usually a Saag and an Aloo dish as well as Biryani and the usual Samosas and Pakoras. The Samosas are not the best in Mississauga. I think that honour goes to White Gold Sweets on Ridgeway. But Mr India Haveli is right on one of my frequent routes so they become a frequent quite acceptable lunch snack. And when I don’t feel like cooking this is a good stop for a quick and tasty Indian dinner.I also shop in the grocery store there. I find the produce somewhat better at the Mr India on Winston Churchill but this one certainly has all the obscure ingredients I need when I need a home cooked Indian fix.We are blessed in Mississauga and surrounding areas with an abundance of stores and restaurants from almost every culture you can name. I did not grow up with any of these cuisines, except maybe North American Chinese, but I have tasted many of them where they originated. Mr India Haveli fits nicely into that group and reminds me of my many trips to India.
3.5 solid! This is an updated reviewI've noticed that the kitchen and front staff have changed.
The worst place to get foodThe service was sooooo slow.
There food is okay. I prefer not eating there for main courses. However, their samosas and chaats are worth trying.
