First time at a hot pot restaurant, drove over an hour to this location to try it. Nothing impressive about the atmosphere- very much a chain restaurant feel, located in a commercial plaza. Restaurant was clean, service was very quick. Food was excellent. We ordered off the dinner menu at lunch time. Broth was delicious, ordered the half & half large pot. What User doesn't like about Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot:
Granted, I went here when it first opened (and I'm only writing the review now), but I had a bad experience. The soup base was overly salty and the ingredients weren't fresh. This is significantly worse than their old Markham location. View all feedback.
I purchased a groupon for this restaurant , and on a recent Friday night we decided to give it a try. We have tried hotpot in China several times so we were excited to try this place. Immediately upon walking through the front door we were greeted by staff. You have a choice of one hotpot or a small one for each person...we went with one large pot. We decided to have one side spicy and the other plain. Since this is a buffet you can order as much food as you like. There is a choice of lamb and beef and chicken. These come platter style ...not large but very adequate. Appetizers are immediately bought to the table...these include what I believe are pork knuckles ...very tasty...as well as shredded potato ? and another dish I can best describe as a seaweed like dish...but not soft ??? You receive a " menu " listing all the dishes available ...and you just tick off how many of each you want per round...the rounds can be endless...but our rounds became smaller orders ,the fuller we became...and we wanted to save room for dessert. The food is brought very quickly...from seafood , meats and veggies to a variety of noodles, dumplings , and tofu . Something for everyone ! Everything seemed fresh ...although I was rather worried about the calamari as it had a strongish odour...but it was fine ! For dessert there is ice cream , deep fried mini bun , and sesame balls. There is also a bar , but when eating this much food ..there is not much room for drinks ! The restaurant is very clean and servers are friendly and quick. It was quite comparable to hot pot in China...and in fact this same company is a chain of restaurants in China. It was worth the hour drive to try.

Restaurant was clean, service was very quick. Food was excellent. We ordered off the dinner menu at lunch time. Broth was delicious, ordered the half & half large pot. We were there for a very long time, tried at least 3/4 of the menu (all you can eat). Staff did not make us feel rushed, enjoyed the experience. Tried some food for the first time (pigs blood, cow stomach, duck feet, etc). Would like to return.
I went to Little Sheep this past weekend with three friends. The overall experience was good. The overall atmosphere was good, nothing really unique about the rooms. The place was big and can hold a lot of people. The Service: The service was ok - we ordered a bunch of food and the initial hot pot arrived quickly but the food took a little longer to get to us. They forgot to bring out 4 of the dishes ordered and only brought it out on the 3rd time we asked for it. Food: The Hot pot was a very unique experience, and as this is my first time I tried as much as I could. All the food was flavourful and one thing that I didn't realize was that you can make your own dipping sauce at a separate station. If my friend who was here before didn't tell us, we wouldn't have known and missed out on some really nice spices and unique dips. My personal favourite was the Lamb, very very tasty. One thing that the group struggled with was the temperature of the hot plate would suddenly go really hot and the soup would boil like crazy. I would come back here with another group, but get a table with more hot plates just so that we didn't all dip all the different items into one hot pot. Overall: Very Tasty!
