Super friendly owners and we always enjoy the food when we’re in the area! Our go tos would be the hokkien mee, hor fun and satay! Don’t skip out on the wok hei, as it makes the dishes. A little taste of home in the GTA : Also, would highly recommend coming with a group to get in on their chilli crab!! View all feedback.

After placing our order, we still hadn't received any water and had to ask again. When our food finally arrived, we found there were no utensils for us to eat or serve the food. Looking around, we saw that other tables had been provided cutlery without having to ask. We had to flag down another waiter to request some, and she seemed a bit annoyed by our question, almost as if we were strangers. Throughout the entire... View all feedback.
I particularly enjoyed the seasoned fish cake served with the nasi lemak, along with the crispy fried egg that complemented the creamy rice perfectly. However, I found the two pieces of otak-otak to be a bit bland and insufficient for the meal. The sambal belacan, while it had a touch of sweetness, affected the flavor of my other dishes. There are variations of sambal belacan that lean sweeter, but as someone who loves spicy food, I prefer mine to pack more heat. Additionally, the amount of sambal served was quite small, which might have been a mix-up on the staff's part that day. The laksa featured coconut cream and generous portions of ingredients, and while I understand it can be difficult to source certain ingredients here, I appreciated the attempt at a substitute. However, I felt that the flavor of the laksa leaves could be more pronounced. Unfortunately, I was a bit let down by the Hokkien mee, as the broth was too watery and didn’t have the rich prawn flavor I'm used to back home. I understand the prawns here are different, which probably accounts for the disparity in broth quality. An improvement would be to serve sambal in a larger quantity and make it spicier. Nonetheless, I truly appreciate the co-owner, a fellow Singaporean, who helps me reminisce about home through these familiar dishes. Food holds a sacred place in our Singaporean culture, and I'm looking forward to trying more dishes, especially the chili crabs during crab season. If only I lived closer, this would definitely be a regular spot for me.
The calamari portion was quite generous. It was decent, although instead of the usual squid rings, it consisted of tentacles. While it wasn't the freshest, it was nicely roasted. Overall, it was average.

Looking around, we saw that other tables had been provided cutlery without having to ask. We had to flag down another waiter to request some, and she seemed a bit annoyed by our question, almost as if we were strangers. Throughout the entire meal, we had to ask for the most basic things, making it feel like our table had been completely overlooked in terms of service. Overall, it was a frustrating experience overshadowed by unprofessional service.
I visited this restaurant to celebrate a birthday with my family of seven. The food was tasty, but the service was quite poor. We had to seat ourselves, and they only had one...
The taste of the food has deteriorated since my last visit. The new location resembles a basic cafeteria, lacking any decor that would indicate it’s a restaurant.
