Imperial Buffet offers a variety of food from different Asian cuisines: Chinese, Japanese and Thai. Its' dessert buffet is more of North American type but it offers plenty. In general food is offered in abundance at Imperial Buffet. If you like to try several different dishes, Imperial Buffet is worth trying. View all feedback.
What Emery Kohler doesn't like about Imperial Buffet:
Pretty good selection of food. Buffet trays were regularly filled & temperature of the food was good. Price was $15.99/person. Not too bad. Food was just "ok"- none of it stood out as flavourful. The seafood soup (tofu & crab imitation chunks) had zero flavour. The desserts were seemingly all sugar free- I had the pecan pie & it didn't have a taste.( normally this is a sugar fix for me) I liked the selection of sushi... View all feedback.
Upon entering this place has some very nice eye appeal with the food looking very fresh. I started with salad and the cold bar. The small spoon for the dressing was a joke for sure. The peeled cold bar shrimp were small and not great. The mussels were tough but the small clams decent. The hot foods were a disaster starting with the prime rib. If the health department was there they would have shut them down on the spot! It was cold and a dried outer crust shell from sitting there too long. The chef cut me a piece but I could not eat it. The chicken was lousy and the ham very salty. Another item I could not eat. It turns out the best item on the menu was the green tea ice cream!
Service was fast and friendly. Food was average, but the hot dishes were better than the dessert items. Even though the price is lower than the Mandarin, I still prefer the Mandarin.
Still the best deal around for AYCE Chinese food especially if you have the two for one/buy two drinks coupon. Lots of choice and fresh food: 4 soups, clams, shrimps, octopi, mussels, baked fish and shrimp, dim sum and all your Chinese favourites. Too many desserts to choose from and ice cream cones as well! Quick service on table cleanup, washrooms fine and roomy seating. Still our favourite place for lunch.
We celebrated my mom's birthday and had lunch at Imperial Buffet last Saturday. My mom's lunch was free and some of us took advantage of a 15% discount. As always the food was good and everyone enjoyed their meals. This is not the Mandarin but for the price and the variety of food that they serve I would recommend this place. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was not very busy. Make sure you leave room for dessert as they always have a good spread.
Went for Saturday Dinner because it was my birthday (free meal if it's your birthday and is accompanied by at least 2 full paying adult). Dinner starts at 4:30. We arrive around 4:50 and there was already some people there. All food were fresh and really good. More people started arriving closer to 6:30-7pm and that's when food start going fast and there are empty containers, etc. Dessert is still there though (everyone eat in order after all). My recommendation is definitely arrive between 4:30 and 5 if you want to have time to try everything (and go back for seconds).I particularly enjoyed the shellfish (raw oysters, etc.). The crab leg and crabs were over cooked (in my opinion) and not the best quality, but hey, its AYCE. All other seafood was great. The lamb, shrimps, beef and other stuff on the grill was tasty. They had a lot of food. Dessert was fantastic as well; wish I had a larger stomach. They had an chocolate fountain by the salad/fruit area. There is also a fridge behind the dessert bar where you can find mousse and mango pudding. They have soft serve ice cream and normal bucket ice cream near back wall.Overall, it was a great experience. Will definitely return if I find someone else with a weekend birthday (otherwise, it's a bit pricey for me). It is cheaper than Mandarin regardless and is better than what i remember from Mandarin (in terms of seafood offering).
