Contribute FeedbackDo not waste your time on Door Fifty Five, as this restaurant's service and management are major drawbacks. Despite the delicious food and great atmosphere, the disrespectful manager ruins the experience. The menu selection, including the wild boar sausage and bourbon options, is impressive. Though the service may be slow and the place quite dark, the food quality makes up for it. Be aware that this place doesn't take reservations, despite some contradictory information. The sheer quality of the dishes and atmosphere is worth a visit to Door Fifty Five.
Met for dinner with a group of friends at the Streetsville location that has recently opened. Menu (which is the same from the Port Credit location) offered very poor selections for vegetarians. The menu was very overpriced as were the cocktails. After taxes, a single cocktail would cost you almost 20 dollars. Might as well go to a nicer restaurant for drinks at that price. 6/8 people who attended the dinner were all sick from the food (throwing up, diarrhea). One of my friends was so sick she even called because she was afraid other guests would fall sick as well. Do not recommend!
This restaurant is a nice change from your typical formulaic restaurants that you see often in Mississauga. I'd definitely recommend it, and would most likely visit again. The wild boar sausage assortment is very delicious and unique, and the bucket of chicken is flavourful and very filling (no kidding, eh?). I forget the name of the beer now, but apparently the restaurant is known for it, and it's great. Only two cons would be that the service is quite slow, even when the place is practically empty, and the place is very dimly lit. I get the appeal, but I should be able to read the menu without having too much difficulty, in my opinion. Something to keep in mind is that I read online that they don't do reservations, when in reality, I think they do. The first time I had come to the restaurant, we were told the wait time was like an hour since we didn't have a reservation. So they advertise one thing but say another. So do they do reservations? I can't really say. Still, worth it.
I have been there twice with friends. The overall experience was good for friend meetup. You won't get disappointed by the food and drinks (love their nachoz!!!). Services are very friendly. The only reason I don't give 5 star is the room is too dark.
Been there a few times, portions are small by comparison to other places but they are well done (brisket could be more melty in the mouth). Drink list is good, focuses on Whiskey (which it says out front). They have live music/DJ on the weekends I have been there and it can get quite loud, so not a great place at night for talking.
So here's the thing: this was some of the best food I've had in a long long time. So damn delicious. Our table had:1. Brisket, mac & cheese2. Ribs3. Shrimp & Grits4. Chicken & WafflesEvery last item was intensely delicious! I would go back for sure, except:1. When we called the restaurant in advance, we were advised they do not take reservations, yet sure enough we get there & tables are reserved. Hmph.2. It was so dark that we had to use the our phones to view the menu3. The bathroom was a little...gross4. The most important drawback is that someone in our party fell - FELL! - off of a broken chair that was apparently supposed to be taken to the basement by a busboy and wasn't. The kicker? Nobody came to check on him! Not one staff member! I was so irritated. By then I'd had it,So here's the thing: if I'm done with the Port Credit location, doesn't mean I can't try the Streetsville location...stay tuned...
