Despite some drawbacks, the restaurant appears to be a decent option in the area. The menu is varied, the prices are affordable, and the beer is served ice-cold. While the ambiance may leave something to be desired, and the service can be inconsistent, loyal regulars seem to enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Overall, the Bristol Bar and Grill is worth a visit for those looking for a casual, no-frills dining experience.
Went to catch the Maple Leaf game. Had to ask them to put the game on one of the TVs because they had curling on instead. Hardly anyone in there for a Saturday night which we were told was unusual.Ordered the nachos as pictured below. Not bad but could have used another minute under the grill to melt the cheese. Served with a very tasty homemade salsa and sour cream. Chicken wings were just a touch overdone and dry but the flavor was really good. We ordered Thai chili. Cherry cheesecake was a generous portion for the price and tasted good as was The Tuxedo cake. Their desserts are inexpensive.Beer here is very inexpensive and is served super ice cold which is nice. Just as a side note this place is freezing cold. We ended up sitting with our jackets on for the entire night because it was so cold. This kept the beer cold but also made our food cold long before it should have been.Service was quick and attentive but given that there were less than 10 people in the bar I would expect no less. Our server was friendly and chatty ( she might have also been lonely given there was hardly any people in the bar)This location used to be Lucy Seafood. The booths and most of the tables are the same and are starting to look a bit tired. Chairs are mismatched as are the tables not that it really matters. As stated in other reviews there are some interesting characters who inhabit the bar area and are quite obviously regulars. Have to visit again sometime in order to see what it's really like because our server assured us it's usually busy. Overall there are worse options. This is okay nothing spectacular but not bad.Lots of free parking as this is located in a Plaza. They do have a very small patio but it's right off the parking lot and facing a busy road. No we did not sit out there because it's February and it was freezing.
We live very close to this Bar and Grill and we have NOT been there very much until recently. We were on our way home after a concert at the Living Arts Center and decided to grab a bit to eat at Jack Astor's. We walked in at 9:30 and were told an hour wait. I don't wait an hour to spend my money. So we were going to go home and order in. That would take too long so we said let's try the Bristol. To make this short this is now our GO TO PLACE when we want to pick up or eat in. The staff are very friendly, the food is very good and the service was very good. The thing is anything on the menu is good for take out. So if I want Jambalaya and my wife wants chicken fingers that is what we order and get on take out. It is really good food and there is so much you will not be able to eat it. This I promise you. Now four of us all had drinks, 2 appetizers and four main dishes the total bill was 115.00 Try going to Jack Astor's and get out the door under 160.00 for 4 people plus get good food. NOT possible. So understand this is a bar and grill and just to give it a try. You will NOT be disappointed. Well worth the stop.
I was disappointed to find that the previous tenant (Lucy's Seafood) had long ago departed and was replaced by the Bristol Bar and Grill. The industrial looking space has little appeal and was close to being deserted the weekday I had lunch (except for a few rather unsavoury characters at the bar.) The food is typical pub-style fair - burgers, sandwiches, etc. The food is far from remarkable and the service rather hit and miss (started great but then our waitress disappeared and I had to find her in order to get the bill.) Sadly, there aren't many other options in the area with the cluster of chain restaurants in the Heartland area being your only choice (which tells you how far things have fallen in Mississauga for decent non-Indian food.)!
Small restaurant/bar in a residential area was just what was needed on this day. Our group of soccer fans enjoyed the time spent here, made better when our team won, watched on the big screen TV. Together with cold beer, good food like the tasty $ 1 oysters, succulent buffalo chicken wrap and crispy fries, our afternoon was made complete by the great service provided by our very pleasant server, Meagan. Worth a visit!
This place has a wide variety of food I tried the fish n chips here and I can't wait to go back! Didn't expect this place to have such good fish n chips!
