Cafe Frei Miskolc

One of the better cafes in Miskolc. Quality is a bit hectic and some of the coffees are a bit overdone with artificial flavoring, but all in all not bad. Bakery is always fresh and the cakes are rather tasty. If you can try to sit outside.

A self-service café with optional service. We went up to the gallery and they brought us the coffee, which was nice as my leg injury would have made it dangerous to try to balance up the stairs. I should say that the lights are kind of dim, which is good for early morning or romantic coffee dates, but hard to do anything else, especially if you are on the brink of falling asleep. The coffee is great, I mean, Frei Tamás himself chose these beverages. The menu is in the booklet which serves as a magazine too. If you are alone, or have a lot of time, you can read it, there are a bunch of things Frei did, people he interviewed, etc. The bathroom is cleaner than what most people would say is clean, and the air is basically sanitized too, which is weird, but better than something nasty. The price is fine, I guess. This is the kind of café people go to to drink something special and eat something special, so do not expect extremely cheap coffee and cookies. Although I do wish those cakes would be bigger just a bit, as they are really tasty.
