We stayed here on the way back from vacation. Easy to get off of I-80 and find this Courtyard by Marriott. Clean enough and newish. They have a restaurant of sorts, so that means no free breakfast. We didn't try the restaurant since there is an Outback Steakhouse nearby. Service was fine. View all feedback.

Breakfast not included, and no pool. When I asked if they had any free coffee in the lobby I was told there's a coffee maker in my room. Avocado toast here- $13!!! ? View all feedback.

We just returned from a weekend at Notre Dame for the USC game. I made reservations way in advance with no cancellation for my husband and I, and another room for my daughter and her husband. We arrived in South Bend at 1:30 and went directly to the hotel to check in. We were told that the rooms were not cleaned yet, but that we could check in as long as we gave a credit card for incidentals. We told them we wanted to make sure there were no issues with us not having a room since we knew we would not be getting back until really late since this was a night game. The woman at the desk and the other woman who seemed to be in charge of housekeeping both said not to worry and that we could head out and our room would be there. When we returned after the game, we were told the hotel was overbooked and that they gave our room away!! We paid for a non cancelable room, so they charged us over $500 for each room since this was a very busy weekend. We checked in earlier, and they still did this! After a very long day and night, they moved us to the Springhill Suites. The rooms were not at all comparable to the Courtyard, and the room we had at Springhill Suites had a stained mattress on the pull out sofa, and had crumbs in the pull out bed. Just so disappointing. My husband talked to the manager and she said it was something to do with their computer system, but this is no way to treat people. They would have taken our money, and then made money on the room that was ours that they gave to someone else. We are Marriott Rewards members as well, and could not believe this. Stay away from this hotel!! After my husband complained to the manager, they did agree to pay for our stay at the other hotel, but this was horrible.

The thing about a hotel is while your stay is taking place do they provide you with the service you need if something goes wrong. These people here went out of their way to make sure the problem I had was solved Barb was a great night manager and did her best. There are nearest several great breakfast place which also is a plus. Like I said I would recommend this place because of the commitment to the staff to solve a problem you have and go out of their way to do it.
