Asianica - Miraflores

I came here with a local. We got the bao buns and the anticuchos to start with. The bao were excellent. The anticuchos were good, but cold. We scarfed them down, but served hot would have been better. I ordered the pad Thai, and that was a miss. I should have known better. It was very saucy and kind of sweet, not like pad Thai. Not horrible, but not pad Thai. I can tell that the food here is good. The place was busy, comfortable and the service was good. #Veganuary

Asianica is an Asian-Peruvian fusion restaurant in northern Miraflores. The quality of the food and service was so high, I was eager to eat here again. The Asian Ceviche was an excellent opportunity to try a very non-vegan dish with a creative spin. The fried oyster mushrooms were perfection as were the vegan fish and other ingredients. I also loved their sweet and refreshing strawberry drink. The second time I had to try their Thai Bao—these folks are masters of fried food and marinades! I heard the Causa was outstanding but went with something more filling, the fried rice. Don’t miss out on your Miraflores visit!

This is a vegan-friendly restaurant. There are a lot of vegan dishes that curiously are not labled, so be sure to ask. Several creative dishes using Beyond Meat. I was craving pad thai, which was not the served in the classic style but more soupy and less sweet/tangy than convetional. Nonetheless, I enjoyed. They served with (I think? pickled papaya which was a great complement, an edible flower for garnish. The serving was HUGE, easily for two people. I'd go back for the maki menu, that looked good! And the people were fantastic, as usual.

La comida es deliciosa. Muy bien servida y presentada. Recomendado al 100%.
