O'brien's - Mio

Great family place. Friday night fish fry with cod, shrimp, fries and home made slaw. Top notch service. Homemade volcano chocolate cake and key lime pie. A few notch above either else in town.

This restaurant is part of the Songbird Motel and open only a few nights per week. Excellent food and service. The Mahi Mahi was seasoned to perfection as well as Dan's Special Potatoes. We will come back!

I'm so glad that this restaurant has opened up again. The O'Brien's discontinued the restaurant at one point, but now, it is open again! It is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays if I'm not mistaken. I was in Mio visiting some relatives and we decided on dining here for the evening. My food was delicious! I ordered the Seafood Trio dish, which consisted of mussels, clams, and shrimp. For dessert, I ordered their Chocolate Volcano, which was to die for! They also brought us some tortilla chips with their homemade salsa, which was also excellent! If you're ever Up North in Oscoda County, it's worth a try!

This is a jewel in the north country! The service is superb and the food is excellent. Make reservations as seating is limited. You will not be disappointed.
