Whilst a pleas... read more This restaurant was recommended by the owner of the Villa we rented on our recent stay . A 15 minute walk from our Villa in Minusio to the Lake . Whilst a pleasant walk during the day suggest driving in the evening . The path...has a series of steps and may be difficult for some . Plenty of parking nearby . The decor is elegant and modern , warm and inviting . Our group of six had an enjoyable evening . Staff were pleasant and friendly. The menu was varied and all meals nicely plated . We had entrees and mains and 2 of our group dessert . Good selection of wines . Unfortunately we did not feel that there were any standout meals . Too many flavours combined in some dishes . The meal was expensive in comparison to meals in 3 and 4 hat restaurants in Sydney but everything in Switzerland is expensive . Suggest rather than dinner a visit for lunch to enjoy the spectacular views .

Since it was late and rainy and we were tired... read more We did not stay in the hotel, but we had a discount voucher from our hotel to the restaurant in the giardino lago. Since it was late and rainy and we were tired we decided to go directly there and not check other places. Well we were really surprised. The meal was superb! Even the beer (bottled local amber ale) was great! The green risotto was as close to perfection as possible with tastes of the see and the spring. The salmon trout was good but not exceptional, and the pana cota we had for desert was divine. The pineapple granita tasted like clouds would taste had the clouds been made of pineapple. It was not a cheap meal (relative to the prices in Italy from which we arrived) but the taste was fabulous, the staff was very friendly and the head chef came to talk with us. I really recommend this place for those who want great meal in Locarno. We visited in a dark and rainy night, but we believe that the view during light time should make the experience even better!
