Reviews - Turtle Bread
Reviews summary
Nestled in Linden Hills, this charming bakery-deli is a neighborhood gem where exceptional baked goods and elevated sandwiches meet cozy café comforts. Patrons rave about omelettes, French toast, sweet potato fries, soups with warm bread and standout pastries; seating spills inside and onto a pleasant patio. Friendly staff and a bakery case of fresh breads create a warm, Hallmark‑movie atmosphere, though popular hours bring waits, limited parking, and occasional inconsistencies—notably pricier sandwiches and uneven coffee or breakfast sides. Ideal for brunch, pastries to-go, or a leisurely lunch.
Was Anonym at Turtle Bread a mag?
We had a wonderfully magical winter evening at this lovely bakery while wandering through Linden Hills. After finding a Christmas tree lot, my friend began to feel a bit lightheaded from low blood sugar, so we decided to take a break. We explored their delightful selection of treats, and we ended up being some of the last customers before they closed. It truly felt like a moment out of a Hallmark Christmas movie. What Justina Stern dislikes about Turtle Bread:
Ended up with a barely-seasoned omelet and paid an extra $2 for hashbrowns that are actually hashbrown wedges that look like they came out of the grocery store freezer section. Could have gotten better ones at McDonalds for less. ? View all feedback.

The ham omelet was very tasty and the almond powdered sugar croissants. The fruit bowl I ordered was cut into rrly small pieces which made it look like it was old/fruit rots quicker when you cut it so small. Overall loved the place.
This place is a neighborhood gem! very charming with delicious items. I met a friend for coffee and then ended up staying through lunch. I recommend a baked good with your coffee- we split a chocolate chip cookie and it was scrumptious. I am a big fan of soup so this place does not disappoint. I ordered the tomato basil and it comes with a side of fresh warm bread. completely hit the spot! there is also plenty of seating for a cafe setting which is nice. Only downfall is parking can be hard to come by, prepare to walk a couple blocks especially if there on a weekend
This is a fantastic neighborhood deli with an incredibly tasty menu and a delightful selection of sweets. Be sure to check out this hidden gem; you’ll be pleasantly surprised, just like I was!

The food was amazing! It can get quite crowded, so be ready for a bit of a wait. My friends and I really enjoyed the patio, and we appreciated the various seating options available both inside and outside. Everyone particularly loved the omelettes, French toast, and a range of other breakfast dishes.

Unfortunately, the service has declined in recent years. The food remains delicious, but their drip coffee, which used to be my favorite, is not as good anymore.
Had a lovely lunch date here on a rainy day. We tried the tomato basil soup, and it was fantastic—tastes just like it's fresh from the farm!
The moment you step inside, the delightful aroma envelops you! I stopped by for a quick lunch, and it was a fantastic choice. While the prices were a bit steep (over $10 for a sandwich), the quality of the ingredients was exceptional. The staff was also very welcoming and friendly. The only reasons I didn't give a perfect five stars were the longer-than-expected wait for my sandwich, the high prices, and the mix-up with my turkey sandwich order. That said, the sweet potato fries were absolutely irresistible!
