I visited the restaurant during lunchtime. Although reservations were recommended on their website, it was also possible to call at the last minute if there was availability. The dishes were satisfying and definitely worth repeating. The food was comforting and I could easily say, "it's delicious." When we visited, there were no other customers, so we were able to have a good conversation with the owner, which was enjoyable. Not only the food, but also the decorations were well thought out, giving a nostalgic feeling to those born in the mid-Showa era. While some reviews mention concerns about the garden, I felt that the atmosphere was relaxed and well put together for a place to have a special meal without feeling too formal. It's a place where you can enjoy a truly Yamato-like atmosphere, which you won't find in Kyoto. I was pleasantly surprised by the fried kombu and persimmon dish. I never knew such a way of enjoying food existed.
