What Matt Draper doesn't like about The Old Ship Aground:
I walked from Butlins to this restaurant for a decent lunch. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow and they seemed to be understaffed. Some of our orders were missed and we had to follow up multiple times. The food that eventually arrived was disappointing. It's a shame because I had a good experience here last year. Overall, I would rate the service a 2 and the location a 4. View all feedback. What User likes about The Old Ship Aground:
Leave a comfortable hostel from our vacation and was good. We shared the mushroom starter that was very nice. The OH enjoyed their F'n'C, but I was not impressed by my choice of Hunter's Chicken (I knew I should have chosen the shells). Beautiful deserts have formed for it! Excellent beer and even better service by staff. So highly recommended View all feedback.

While previous experiences of slow service and missed orders have been noted, many patrons praise the friendly staff, particularly highlighting the exceptional management. The menu features a variety of well-regarded dishes, with standout options including the highly rated Sunday roast and fish and chips. Guests appreciate the clean accommodations and dog-friendly policy, making it an ideal stop for those hiking the SW coast path. Overall, the restaurant delivers good food and a pleasant dining experience, albeit with some room for improvement in service consistency.
