This place was such a gem! It might look intimidating first because it is underground but trust me, it is worth it. The menu is in English but not everything has a price on it but don’t worry, the food is incredibly affordable and the portion sizes are huge! We got karaage, oden and chicken yakitori. I have never seen such big karaage (6 pieces) and chicken yakitori (3 skewers). Everything was triple the size of what you would get in Tokyo but half the price. And the taste was delicious!!! Creds to the owner!
Highly recommended. The food are all amazing, all prepared by one ojiisan. Though the place is a bit rundown, it provides a good ambience for an authentic japanese izakaya experience. Did I mention the food is simply to die for?
A hidden gem in minakami!I love this place!i visited this restaurant in 2017,the owner was very friendly and tried his best to communicate with us in english.he served delicious food with generous portion.i can't forget the taste of that karaage until now.will be back for sure!
One of the best Izakaya I have ever experienced before! The price was so reasonable compared to the huge portion and the amazing quality! Absolutely a must try restaurant when you visit Minakami. The owner was so sweet and he kept insisting on giving us free food. Don't underestimate the size of the food, I recommend maximum one dish/ per person otherwise you wouldn't be able to finish what you have ordered. If you don't understand Japanese? Don't worry, just show the owner the picture! He is very nice and friendly and will try his best to feed you good food!
The place is a hidden gem. The man behind the bar is a master and prepares the most amazing sashimi plate with real wasabi. True quality. The atmosphere is laidback and very relaxed. Definitely recommend eating here all you can and drinking even more! Wish a had a place like this next to my home.
