The lady who cashed me out seems to have a big heart for baked goods and a terrible bedside manner with people, or at least, that's just her facial expression. They have a surprisingly diverse selection of fruit n vegetable preserves and honeys, including home canned spicy salsa! It's end of September the weekend before Harvest Moon) so Im glad that I happened to be driving thru the area. Truly aovely drive on a sunny Sunday morning! We got a rhubarb pie $15), large jar of salsa $6), a maple sugar candy $1.25) and a pumpkin tart $2.00). All their goods seem to be of top quality.
I doubt I'll ever taste better baked goods than these. The crusts on the butter tarts and pies are exceptional, and the classic cake-style donuts have the perfect texture. She also offers an impressive range of jarred and pickled items. I'm going to be really sad when the bakery closes in September. Make sure to visit while you still can!
Every single item we have purchased is incredible. Dar is dedicated and not rude at all, just don't ask dumb questions. I have been in the store many times and having to listen to some of the customers questions, you will know why she comes off as rude. Asking if the pies are fresh or why there isn't any more donuts is going to get a rigid answer.
What a charming spot to discover! They have a fantastic selection of baked goods, pickles, jams, salsa, and more—all incredibly fresh. I’m especially fond of their quiches, veggie pot pies, and sausage rolls; the crust is simply delightful.
After many years of visiting Dar's Delights, I feel a mix of disappointment and happiness as I learn that Dar will be retiring this September. There's no question that this hardworking and talented baker has earned a joyful retirement, but I'll truly miss her amazing butter tarts, pies, and other treats. It has been a pleasure getting to know Dar and John over the past two decades. I plan to continue my weekly visits this summer and wish them both a wonderful and healthy retirement.
