I wish if I can give this place negative star. This is worst place I ever tried. Food is not fresh and looks like must have been in and out of freezer multiple times. Items from order were super dry and wasted. Above all this owner is rude at its extreme limits. Stay away from this place and save your money and spend some other good places which are still doing honest business in these difficult pandemic times.
The place looks nice. Decor is inviting. The food presentation was nice. But the food taste and texture was a huge letdown. First of all, the Ipoh coffee and hot chai tea tasted like it was made from the instant sachets you get in Asian stores, complete with the taste of non-dairy milk ofr milk powder. The basil fried rice with chicken that I got was ok to taste, but the rice was too wet. Not sticky rice wet, but just normal rice with too much water left behind. And then the Mee Goreng with shrimp that my husband got had to be the worst. The spices were not cooked at all and were probably added at the very end. Noodles were again wet, like they were not stained completely. We were the first of the lunch customers, so the restaurant wasn't even busy for these mistakes. And for the average price of $13 per dish, the quantity was not the usual you get in Asian restaurants in the bay area. Overall, disappointed.
Halal Meat is served here, per signs on the restaurant and owner is a Known Muslim. Red Kwali is a Bay Area staple for the past 15 years! They serve authentic Malaysian, Indonesian and Singaporean food. Must have the Roti for appetizer. I also like the Laksa, Chicken Satay as well as the Beef Rendang! They are open for both lunch and dinner everyday except for Mondays and Tuesdays. Highly Recommended!
Asian food and the atmosphere here is very good. Do yourself a favor and try this place. I will be bringing friends next time. It has a great atmosphere. Food is similar to a cafe in Indianapolis I liked.
The food is delicious, and decent value, but lately I've had to wait 30 minutes to get the food, even though the place wasn't particularly busy: apparently they have only a single cook on duty during lunch hours. So, if you're in a hurry, this may not be the right choice for you.
