Interior reflects the 'old ' part of the description. However, the food is good, not great. Service is excellent and the staff is friendly. This type of finer is dieing in the Bay Area, so I would encourage you to patronize this establishment.

Once we got in, I really enjoyed the crab cake Benedict; it was crispy and delicious. The hash browns were just okay, as they had a bit of an old oil flavor. The blueberry pancakes were fantastic, although we forgot to request no frosting, which was our mistake. Overall, it was a good experience and the food was quite filling. The staff was friendly and attentive, and I would love to return!

The pancakes are awesome too! Don't bother with Black Bear Diner up the street it's a wasteof money!

I ordered the egg benedict with californian choice (every time i go a new place to try i order the same plate to do my testimony). Taste is good for the three stars. Missed two stars for waiting for the food/slowservice (server is fine and welcoming), and coffee is plain. I found a hair in my fruit plate as the side of my order, thewaitress switched a new fruit side for me right away.

Throughout... read more Went here for breakfast after seeing and hearing about it being the best breakfast joint around. We were greeted warmly and promptly when we arrived. Throughout our visit, our server (I am guessing she was the owner, too) was super helpful, friendly,and patient. She explained everything we would ever want to know about the various breakfast options we were interested in. Thefood was served hot, fresh, and in generous portions...almost too much to eat even though we were very hungry. The only twocriticism we have are that we found the pancakes to be too thick and cake-y and the chicken fried steak was kind of tough andstringy. However, the great prices and the warm and friendly service more than made up for those two minor quibbles. We will beback next time we are in the area for another home cooked meal!
