Curt's Smokin' Ribs - Mill Hall

Quite disappointing for BBQ. My expectations were definitely set too high after seeing the 4.5 star rating on Yelp. I forget that in smaller towns, I need to subtract at least a star when compared to larger metros. If there's no other BBQ around, this will scratch the itch. But the meat is dry and sauce lacking in depth and flavor. Nice people though.

Curt's used to be my go to spot for BBQ. Man, has this place fallen off a cliff. We got a pound and a half of brisket and about half of it was fat. The woman taking our order couldn't have been less enthused. The coleslaw was runny and tasted off. To top it all off, the bathroom was DISGUSTING. That will probably be our last stop at Curt'.

If you're ever in Mill Hall, you MUST stop by Curt's Smokin' Ribs! (It's about 40 mins from State College, give or take). You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The wood fired pizza is my favorite and they have gluten free!! But we didn't get pizza this time, unfortunately. Pictured here is the BBQ Trio, with Boneless Ribs and Pulled Chicken, and I substituted the Pulled Pork with Brisket. The sides are potato salad and sweet potato fries (with cinnamon sugar) . We also got a half chicken and half rack combo with horseradish coleslaw and smoked baked beans. We drove about 10 minutes to Bald Eagle State Park to eat; the view of the lake paired with the food was amazing. The food and service was 11/10 as always. You won't regret stopping! Very reasonably priced for the outstanding quality as well.

We placed a large order for a Halloween party from Curt's Pizza, a place we used to love. We ordered three large cheese and pepperoni pizzas, a large potato salad, and a total of 80 boneless wings. The wings were decent, but that's where the positives end. The employee couldn't take card payment over the phone, which was inconvenient, but the real issue was the quality of the food. The potato salad was flavorless and unappetizing, and the pizza was absolutely awful. While it looked good, the taste was terrible. It didn't resemble the delicious wood-fired pizza we had enjoyed in the past at Curt's. The pizza had a rancid, musty taste to it. We wasted over $47 on this disappointing meal and are hesitant to return in the future. We can only hope that we don't get sick from the food we received.
