In the heart of Milan, there 's still a small, timeless haven: Bar Torrital. A place that seems to have stopped in the 1970s, and for this very reason, it retains a rare and authentic charm. As soon as you enter, you 're greeted by a warm and familiar atmosphere: marble floors, vintage-inspired counters and display cases, a billiards room, and tables where cards slowly slide by amidst chatter and smiles. Here, there 's no rush; there 's a place to take a break. Mr. Idio, the soul of the place, helps create that friendly and relaxed atmosphere that 's increasingly hard to find these days. It 's the kind of place where you immediately feel at ease, without formality. And then there are the toasts: simple, but truly phenomenal, just like the ones of the past. Fair prices, no surprises, and a quality-to-experience ratio that 's definitely worth the visit. Bar Torrital isn 't just a bar, but a corner of slow Milan, authentic and sincere. A little treasure not to be missed.

Idio, the owner, is a born comedian and an excellent bartender. He and the bar are a true Milanese institution. He 's been open and running it since '64. Negronis with an incredible history.

After lunch or an aperitif in the area, you MUST stop by Idio. You'll enter another world: a relaxed atmosphere, genuine Tuscan owners with a direct and kind spirit, low prices, and excellent company. A unique little corner of Milan, not to be missed.

It 's like getting out of your DeLorean and going for a toasted sandwich in the '80s. The atmosphere is that kind of thing, you feel bigger than you already are, because you used to come to a bar like this as a kid, when all you could buy was a citron and some candy. Today, you sit down, chat with the owner, and you realize that substance always outweighs appearance. I don 't know how many bars can offer a toasted sandwich filled with homemade eggplant at a more than fair price.
