Only regret: we had no more time to go beyond the first course and a glass of house wine, the restaurant is small in a cozy way, the owner was very helpful, and the pictures on the wall showed some local celebrities enjoying the place as well. Will go back when I have a chance View all feedback.
What BobC558 doesn't like about Il Pontaccio:
I had very high hopes for my dining experience here when i sat down. These were confirmed with the first sip of the wonderful wine that was recommended to me. My first plate of foie gras was divine!! Beautiful slices of the Foie were served on top of a pistachio sauce. But, i must say my entree was a bit disappointing. I had opted for small veal cutlets in a sauce with shaved white truffles. The veal was overcooked,... View all feedback.

I’ve been here with some friends , the services was good , great atmosphere, they have a good Italian coffee too and moderate prices .
Wonderful restaurant in the heart of Brera. Fantastic food, great service, and ambiance, which can be great to go with family and friends, or even for a romantic dinner. One of the best restaurants in Milan.
Walked into this restaurant at around 2.30pm. With only one other table filled in the restaurant I got the feeling from the outset that I was on the clock. They wanted me to eat and basically get out. They only brought me a piece of baguette and charged me €5 for it at the end. Ordered the lobster with spaghetti. The portion was small despite me telling the Philippines waiter I wanted this as a main. Tried to order a fruity White wine, the Philippines waiter knew nothing about wine and said the sommelier would be able to help. The sommelier was even less helpful saying that what I want was the first recommendation the Philippines waiter recommended....I.e. The idiot who isn't the sommelier made the correct recommendation....go figure. The wine recommended was semi dry opposite to what the waiter said and it was fruity. It wasn't fruity! Ate my main very quickly and with all eyes looking at me each time I took a forkful of spaghetti it was the uneasiest feeling ever. I would give this restaurant the miss, poor service, food was ok not great and a restaurant with workers more interested in going home than working. Cest la vie.
Il Pontaccio is a quality restaurant in Brera district of Milan. Whenever I am in town I like to go there for an excellent dinner and a the chance to watch a game of football on the discreet screen. The menu is quite big and I haven't had the chance to sample all the dishes but those I have had the chance to eat have been of a very high quality. the owner is very amenable and the young waiting staff very helpful. Oh, and they also have a Serie A wine list.
