Kfc - Milan
Kfc
Description
A takeout-focused spot that can deliver satisfying fried chicken when service clicks, but is marked by inconsistent food quality and frequent service failures. Diners report overcooked sandwiches and fries, missing sides or condiments, rude or rushed staff, unreliable phone lines, and occasional awkward drive‑thru interactions. Helpful employees have rescued some visits, yet repeated order mistakes (even after long drives) make it a hit-or-miss choice: come for convenience and bold flavors, but check your order before you leave.

The food was good, but the service left much to be desired. I visited on 9/30 at 8:50 PM after a night shift and was looking for some dinner on my way home. The cashier, a younger individual with longer curly hair, was quite rude. He handed me my items in a very stern manner, asking "CARD? DRINK? DRINK?" while being passive-aggressive in his delivery. After I received my food, he called out to the manager, saying, "SEE, I TOLD YOU WE WERE GONNA GET TO CLOSE ON TIME," making it clear he was trying to imply something negative. I understand I was there late, but there was no need to make me feel guilty about it. I also found the manager's response to be quite immature. I won't be returning to this place again.
The food was overcooked; the chicken sandwich was neither hot nor freshly fried and was quite hard. The fries were also overcooked and tough. There were no soda options available, only tea. Additionally, there were no condiments for the fries, and I had to ask for napkins.
We live 45 minutes away from this restaurant. We ordered a large meal and requested honey when we placed our order. When we got to the window, we asked again while paying. When we received our food, we inquired once more and were told it was in the bag. We reminded the staff because they often forget the honey. After driving 45 minutes home, we discovered there was no honey at all! I called the restaurant, and they claimed they didn't know what happened. It's frustrating that we trusted them to do what they said. I should have realized there’s a lack of integrity here!
A small mistake during my visit to the KFC in Milan, IL revealed a lot about their customer service. After ordering a breast and a leg, I received two legs instead, and the rest of my meal was disappointing—the biscuit was extremely dry and I don’t like gravy. The cashier and manager were friendly, and I tried the upsell option, but the real issue was getting the mistake corrected. I spent over 15 minutes trying to call the store, only to find the line busy the entire time. Frustrated, I gave up. I won’t be returning because while anyone can make a mistake, how you handle it shows the true quality of the business.
