I went back to Capital Ale House and had a great lunch. I had been disappointed a while back when they changed up their menu, but things have made a turn for the more interesting. The Krakow sandwich was excellent and the pierogies were fantastic! They truly deserve to be recognized as one of the only places around that makes something other than traditional southern dishes.
I had a doctors appointment near by and decided to grab lunch early so I stopped at Capital Ale House. I ordered the spinach and beets salad and through on an order of wings at the last minute. Glad I did. Both came out at the same time, which I do not like. The wings where great, the salad not so good. I was expecting thinly sliced radishes and diced beets but instead I gotA salad that was just thrown together. The salmon wasn't seasoned and I had a hard time finishing it. And I love Salmon. Pretty decent size restaurant. They could use some more lighting though.
Date night and decided to visit Capital Ale House as our usuals were full. Loved that it was easy to book last minute reservation AND our table was ready when we arrived. Food was delicious. We had the chicken, shrimp, andouille pasta. So very good. And drinks were just right. Our server was wonderful and didnât rush us even though it was busy. Excellent!
Great selection of alcohol which is ever changing. The brunch is a fun time. Food is good and you will have a great time here.
I wanted to try a new place for my birthday dinner, but I was surprised by the interior when we walked in. It felt a bit outdated and had a musty smell that hit me as soon as we entered. We started off with the fried pickles appetizer, which my daughter and husband enjoyed. I ordered the pasta with chicken, Andouille sausage, and shrimp, which was decent—nothing to rave about, but certainly not terrible. My husband had the white chicken chili and a salad; he said it was just okay. My daughter tried the shrimp tacos and really didn't like them at all. My husband tasted them too and shared her opinion. On a positive note, our waiter was excellent. Overall, the food was adequate for the price, but while it wasn't a horrible experience, I'm not in a rush to return.
Capital Ale House presents a mixed bag of dining experiences, leaving guests with varying impressions. Many appreciate the friendly service and inviting atmosphere, noting standout dishes like the Giant Bavarian Pretzel and Krakow sandwich. However, inconsistency plagues the restaurant; while some find the food delightful and well-prepared, others report underwhelming flavors, cold dishes, and slow service. The layout may feel awkward, and the pricing can be considered steep for the offered quality. Despite the shortcomings, numerous patrons look forward to returning, hopeful for an elevated experience that reflects the establishment’s potential.

We were annoyed that when we arrived with a 6:30 pm reservation for three we were told there would be a 45 min wait for indoor seating because two large parties had walked in. We were offered immediate seating outside, which we took, but it was a chilly evening and we had not brought jackets (we had not planned nor wanted to sit outside). Ale House food is decent but not rave worthy. I had the salmon, my husband and MIL each had a burger. We also had spinach and shrimp dish appetizer, which was good but not enough bread is given. Service was fair.
Great selection of beers and the food was delicious.
The food wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. It was simply hoo hum. Not much flavor. Service was nice but the waitress had no idea about flavors in dishes or recommendations. The place was too big and awkwardly laid out. Pricey for what they offered. Beer was good. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t terrible. It was just a completely forgettable experience.
The first time there and we loved it. bretzel with cheese app was great. dinner was delicious and our server was wonderful! will come back!
Capital ale house is always a good way for biz chats. cold beer, good eating options from ground to lure and always fun.

Oh to have dined within the halls of the great Viking jarls that came before us! Upon entering the house of ales, you are immediately greeted by three artisans of fine dining who eagerly greet you and escort you to your feeding booth. You will dine like a king a Viking king! The ale flowing into your goblet without pause. Feasts brought to you without question!
Before COVID, I wasn't particularly impressed with Capital Ale House, but I’ve visited a few times recently and have been pleasantly surprised! They’ve done an excellent job spacing out the tables, and the restaurant was very clean. All the staff were wearing masks and following appropriate COVID precautions. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious. The drinks were fantastic too. I will definitely be returning soon!
I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant! The hostesses were incredibly friendly and attentive. Our waiter Sage provided impeccable service, making our dining experience truly enjoyable. The food was simply phenomenal! We started with the Giant Bavarian Pretzel, which was enormous and absolutely delicious. The French Dip was also fantastic!
The food and service were excellent. The service was definitely five-star... I will be returning soon.
Very good food and service was great. Beer menu is extensive of course. Little on expensive side but above average bar food.
