Food was excellent and always hot, we were a large party and everything came out together and hot. Staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is a bother. Reasonably priced as well. Good menu which caters for all tastes and good drinks selection. Would definitely recommend.

We were gre... read more Having successfully completed a major project I took my team out as a small thank you. There were 5 of us and we arrived around 1030h for breakfast. We were greeted by the very .lovely Amy, who promptly seated us. She was polite, friendly and attentive. She took our drinks orders, then our breakfasts. We all opetd for the full Scottish at under a tenner each. The meal was fabulous, well cooked, piping hot and presented on high quality flatware with good cutlery. The sausages had a delicious crisp outer, the bacon was well done but not hard, the mushrooms were served in a wee bowl with chilli oil. The eggs were perfect, accompanied by a slice of chunky bread, haggis and black pudding. Beans finished it off brilliantly. The teapot was quirky and delightful. Alison, the owner was not only beautiful but very charming with it. She was involved in the serving of our meals and chatted to us as she served us, making us feel more than welcome. Five breakfasts with assorted lattes, cappuccinos and teas was under £70 so very reasonably priced too. I left a well deserved tip and Alison kindly let me know that the full tip always went to the serving staff, so very ethical too. My colleagues were all as suitably impressed as I was. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and the only shame is that my time in Bonnyrigg is over, and I dearly wished I'd found The Beetroot sooner.

I had the spicy burger and... read more Stopped in on a Sunday night not very busy. The atmosphere was great beautiful bar! The food was amazing and the service was perfect! I had the spicy burger and it was so tasty. We even tried the Can 't decide desert. The chocolate orange cheesecake was my favorite. We were from out of town and the owner gave us his time to help with some of our traveling questions. I highly recommend this place!

It'... read more Another local eatery has found its way into Bonnyrigg, and it looks even better on the inside too with plenty of seats. To me, it's still finding it's feet. It's still early days, but I'm pleased to report that so far, so good. The chips are excellent and so is the minute steak sandwich. Mum and I both agreed the risotto rice was still a little hard for the beetroot, feta and pine nut risotto. The staff were attentive and the food came quickly to our table. I'm sure there will be new additions to the menu and I'm eager to try it out again, very soon!
