Texas Soul Cafe - Midland

The first time I went here they were of 60% of the food on the menu, but the owner made it right before our departure by giving us additional portions of other foods and gave us some gift cards and told us to come back. Eating was fine, although I can't say it tasted like real soul food.

Great streak fingers. Good burgers. I plan on going back to try other things on the menu. It gets pretty crowded and there can be a bit of a wait at lunch time. All in all a good place to eat.

I had high expectations for this restaurant after hearing so many positive reviews, but I was unfortunately let down. They were out of several menu items, but only informed us after we placed our order. I had to go to the counter three times to find out that they didn’t have certain dishes available. I understand it was a Friday afternoon, but still, it's disappointing. I ordered the chicken spaghetti, which turned out to be quite dry. For my sides, I received corn and a salad. The corn was tasty, but it wasn’t what I had hoped for. My kids also didn’t get what they wanted. Overall, I don't think I would consider giving this restaurant a second chance.

The food is good, but don't expect anything that truly touches the soul. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the portion sizes make up for it. I’ll definitely return to try the burger!
