I'm always up for a good grilled cheese and this place did not disappoint! It's nothing fancy but just what I wanted. Chill environment. A variety of grilled cheese options I loved the Avomelt! The Raclette with tater tots is not worth it for $14. I don't feel like it was that much and you can get a side of tater tots with your sandwich. I'm not local, but I look forward to returning here next time I'm in town! View all feedback.
I had an amazing grilled cheese here and I will definitely return whenever I'm in Middletown. The artwork is fantastic and really contributes to the overall atmosphere.
I discovered The Whey Station through a Food Network show, and I was thoroughly impressed! I highly recommend the Brussels sprouts, no matter how they're prepared. The short rib grilled cheese paired with tomato bisque was fantastic. The staff was wonderful and adhered to all safety protocols. Thank you!
I brought my 90-year-old grandmother to this restaurant because she adores cheese and potatoes. She can’t stop raving about how much she enjoyed it. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was vibrant and trendy, and they offer fantastic craft sodas. I will definitely return the next time I’m in town!
This place serves the best grilled cheese and tater tots around! The staff is fantastic, especially Kaylee, who is incredibly helpful and offers great drink recommendations. Highly recommended!
If you're looking for a place that offers both comfort and a touch of playfulness, The Whey Station(ary) deserves a spot on your list. Their star dishes are the tater tots and grilled cheese sandwiches, and there's a good reason for that—they're absolutely delicious and indulgent! One highlight was The Shorty, which features short ribs enveloped in a five-cheese blend, topped with garlic aioli and caramelized onions. It was simply outstanding! The chef generously piled on the ingredients and managed to crisp up the extra cheese that oozed over the edges. Eating it felt like a nostalgic day off spent at home with mom, combined with the carefree vibes of a summer weekend as an adult. We also tried the Avomelt, which came with guacamole, bacon, and more garlic aioli—truly amazing! The tater tots were perfectly crispy all around as well. The restaurant had a variety of unique beers on tap, maintained a safe distance between tables, and offered incredibly attentive service. Bravo! I can’t wait to return—hopefully very soon!
