What Aubrey Veselick doesn't like about Taproot Brewing Co.:
Now I know why this place is empty when it could be packed. Food was inedible. Had the Snack plate and the candied bacon was gray and rubbery, the deviled egg was 1 hard boiled egg that tasted like it was sitting in cloves, and the frickles were soggy, burnt and old tasting. The only positive was the fried chips and pretzels, and the drinks. No complaints on beer, wine or service. Please check your kitchen. View all feedback.
I now understand why this restaurant is empty when it has the potential to be busy. The food was simply inedible. I ordered the snack plate, and the candied bacon was gray and rubbery. The deviled egg was just a single hard-boiled egg that had an overpowering clove flavor, and the frickles were soggy, burnt, and tasted stale. On a positive note, the fried chips and pretzels were good, and I have no complaints about the beer, wine, or service. However, I suggest checking on the quality coming from the kitchen.
I had the opportunity to visit this fantastic restaurant last week. The staff at the Eatery were amazing, and the menu offered some intriguing options. The chowder and cheesecake were absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to go back!
Went here for my bachelor party mid-Saturday. Arrived got a 11am reservation (opens at 11). Was seated upstairs and our waiter Dave was incredibly knowledgeable! We had many questions and he answered them well and had very good suggestions with a few free wine “samplers”. Had the Ooey-gooey with added Bacon and the pesto was AMAZING! Zuchinni app equally good. The calamari was the BEST calamari I have ever had!! Only complaint was that as the morning/afternoon became busier was that our waiter became overwhelmed with his assigned seating and didn’t check in on us as often as we would have liked- we were looking for more wine and water and had to wait about 20 mins to get him over to our table.I absolutely will come back but I wish y’all had more servers during the “Saturday rush”
The setting of the vineyard is quite picturesque, try the gourmet cheese, honey and spicy jam with bread.
Well, if you want bad food, mediocre service and wine that tastes like vinegar, this is your place! I’m not sure what this company is known for, I guess the beer is good, but the one that was available to order was acceptable at best. The pretzels came out soggy, the salad looked like it had been chopped in a bowl like in a to go shop, and the porterhouse steak shown in the picture was tough. No steak knife given to cut through it, you just have to use the butter knife.. We ordered the dessert board, lord help us. Two different offerings of “gourmet” gummy bears, some nut chocolate thing that barely looked presentable, a snickerdoodle, which was unfortunately the best thing on the plate, a Baby Yoda looking chocolate chip and lemon (huh? mini cupcake and a glorified chocolate covered little Debbie cake with some gold bubbles on top.. The dessert plate was “under the sea” themed. Maybe it should stay there. The pretzels we ordered were forgotten and we had to ask for them, the server brought out the bill before the dessert, and each plate seemed like it took forever to come out. They weren’t that busy, but maybe with the cookout they had, maybe they were all on their last legs? With so many places to eat, I would look elsewhere. I was hoping to like this place, but alas, we left unhappy.
