Contribute FeedbackThe Tex Mex restaurant in Middletown offers a mixed bag of experiences for its patrons. While some guests were impressed with the complimentary nachos and homemade salsa, others were turned off by spoiled guacamole and mediocre dishes lacking in flavor authenticity. The margaritas received high praise, with one review describing them as strong and delicious. The atmosphere was generally liked, although some felt it could use a bit of maintenance. Overall, the service was seen as attentive and pleasant, with hot and quick food delivery. While not everyone was a Mexican food enthusiast, even seafood lovers found the food to be delicious with warm surroundings and great service. The generous portions of food and variety of drinks, including six beers on tap, were noted as positives. The restaurant is a popular spot, with packed crowds on certain nights. If improvements are made to the food quality and authenticity, this spot could become a favorite for both locals and out-of-towners.
We went out to dinner with Teagan, Liv and friends. 6 of us- 20 minute wait. Not bad. I started with the margarita flight. All delicious. I like the middle one the best. Fresh chips. Fresh salsa. House made crispy chips and fresh light salsa. On to tacos. I had ahi tuna tacos. Loaded with rare sushi grade ahi tuna. Really great. T got a gigantic plate of nachos. Service was amazing. Attentive and friendly. And all reasonable priced. A great meal at a local place.
I love this local Mexican place. the food is relatively authentic. the inside décor is very cultural, and it feels like you are in a little bodega. this place tends to get super busy on a Friday or Saturday night. I also love that there is now a little outside patio area. I have tried various things on the menu. the chips and salsa are great. I have also had the burritos, quesadillas, and fajitas. if you are in the area, I recommend giving this place a try. the staff is also very friendly, which always makes the experience even better.
The salsa had no flavor. Tasted like tomatoes. The taco salad was ok . Would not go back .
Went in a Saturday afternoon for drinks, I ordered the ultimate and it was okay. They use a lot of premixed ingredients. Bartenders are NOT mixologists, big difference. The drinks here under the previous owner were fabulous. I can make a better drink at home, I have no reason to return. The bartender did not know if there was a house wi-fi, this place has gone down hill.
Went here for Thursday dinner and I was surprised at how many people there were, the place was packed!! We started off with chips and salsa and I was obsessed with the salsa, it was so interesting they added carrots corn and a lot of cumin spice. I figured it was homemade, and got confirmation from the waitress. We got a beer and a seltzer because we didn 't notice the margaritas menu tucked away on the table. They were fine. But once we found the margaritas menu, game over. My husband got a mango Margarita and I got a strawberry Margarita. They were SO STRONG. There 's a disclaimer on the menu that if you 're driving they suggest a half-marg . We ended up ordering shrimp quesadilla and steak fajitas. The shrimp were huge and juicy. They also brought out a second order of chips and salsa for us, we couldn 't get enough of the salsa. The fajitas were okay, the meat was an interesting texture, and the Tex Mex spices were different from what I 'm used to with authentic Mexican, but not bad just different style of cuisine! I think once they open the patio it 'll be a really cool spot in the summer time!
