Lovely Garden Centre, quite open so wrap up warm. Decorated so nice for Christmas with lovely Festive walk and real Reindeers where they are collecting for Mind which is such a lovely idea. We were planning on having lunch but although it wasn't that busy in the shop the restaurant was heaving. It was a wed lunchtime and it was packed, they are lots of seats but they all seemed full with long queues for food.Do meals... View all feedback.
What Denisedram doesn't like about Cherry Hill Cafe:
Although the food was very expensive, it was enjoyable. Tuna mayo jacket potato was really good, though granted, can't go far wrong. The cakes looked delicious with a good selection. Also provided a pot of hot water to go with our tea for two. However when asked for another pot of hot water we were told that we have to queue up again. Staff were curt and unhelpful which is a shame as it let the experience down. View all feedback.
I visited the cafe today and after ordering drinks, we asked for an extra plate because the scone we bought was too large for one person. To our surprise, we were told we would be charged for the extra plate. We were shocked and astonished by this policy. If the drinks had not already been given, I would have politely refused and left. In all my years, I have never encountered such a ridiculous rule. If the scones were smaller, we would have ordered two and gotten two plates. The restaurant was messy with dirty dishes left unattended, and it was in desperate need of cleaning, especially during a time when Covid cases are rising again. I have no intention of visiting this place again, as the service was terrible.
Our experience at this cafe was not enjoyable. The establishment was unclean, with food scattered on the floor and tables cluttered with dirty dishes. As a group of 3 adults and 4 children, we required a larger table, which we had to clean ourselves. The staff were unfriendly, with one woman being particularly rude. We do not plan on returning to this location.
I recently went for afternoon tea and was disappointed with the experience. The sandwiches were just okay, but the scones were rock hard. The cream seemed to be from a can and lacked taste. The salad, cakes, and overall experience were awful. I have had much better afternoon teas elsewhere and won't be returning. I make scones myself and share them with my neighbors, who love them. That's all I have to say.
£35 for a ‘quick bite’ for a family of 3 (the baby only got a egg sandwich) at a garden centre is horrendous. If the food came and was of a high standard; we could live with that, but overcooked hollow chips, pie with 3 inches of pastry and a sad looking egg sausage and chips Won’t be returning
Avoid at all costs! After reading previous reviews it appears I am not the first to experience extremely rude staff. Embarrassing me in front of a very busy cafe for feeding my 15 month old daughter a tiny home made sandwich after spending nearly £40 on food and drink from the cafe. I mentioned she has allergies and i was told as they cater for that I can't take my own food in and there are signs all over to this affect. Which there isn't. Refused to refund me so I could leave and feed my daughter outside. I asked if i could breast feed as i didn't purchase the milk from there and i was assured that would be ok...yes thats how pathetic it got. My first time eating in this cafe and definitely my last. Over priced and miserable staff, heard staff being rude to other customers as well and refusing to make toast for someone just because it was 10 minutes after 12. The cafe needs to cater better to families with young children, or maybe employ some staff with some actual care and manners. Left a bad feeling on our day out, shame.
