The food is good omelettes, waffles are great, especially there specialty waffles! This is just a local Mom and Pop breakfast and lunch spot. It's small but once you're seated it's comfortable and the food is consistently good. Nice people work there too. View all feedback.
What Susan S doesn't like about Leo's:
Middlebury location. Their tagline was At Leo 's, our customers aren 't just customers, they 're one of the family, and if there 's one thing we know, its how to treat family. The food, the service, the atmosphere, we 're great, but the waitstaff were what really put it over the top. We loved coming here at least once or twice a month for 16+ years. Then they just closed. This restaurant is a fantastic spot for breakfast! There are plenty of options to choose from, but not so many that it gets overwhelming. I have visited a couple of times on Friday mornings for a working breakfast, and there is always a good crowd. The staff are friendly and quick. I have particularly enjoyed the omelettes here, but the French toast is the standout dish for me! It is made with delicious challah bread and is absolutely delicious. Overall, this is a great casual spot for breakfast that is also family-friendly.
I visited this restaurant this morning and opted to sit outside. Our coffee and drinks were served promptly by the hostess. However, we waited for 15 minutes without any acknowledgement from our presumed waitress. We finished our coffee and orange juice and left a $7 tip, which we felt they did not deserve. We later visited the location in Southbury, which was significantly better. This experience was not well-managed and we do not plan on returning.
I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. I visited the Middlebury location this morning to meet a friend for breakfast. Typically, they allow you to seat yourself, so that's what I did. However, a server very rudely told me that I couldn't sit until my friend arrived, even though there were many empty tables. As a senior citizen who recently had knee replacement surgery, I found this treatment unnecessary and disrespectful. I mentioned the incident to a woman at the cash register, who allowed me to sit and even offered to bring me coffee. She assured me that she would address the issue with the server. I observed her speaking to him, and they both began laughing hysterically, finding rudeness amusing. When my friend arrived, we decided to leave. I later called to speak to the owner or manager, who promised me a complimentary breakfast on my next visit and said the owner would call me back. However, I never received a call. My advice is to avoid this place altogether. The servers lack manners and seem to dislike customers. I will not be returning and urge others to find a friendlier establishment.
