One of the best restaurants I've ever tried in the Netherlands. Everything was delicious from starter to dessert. literally could not complain about something
Like seafood-oriented tapas restaurant. Absolutely delicious and dishes design are like fine food
Unfortunately a very disappointing experience for us. After a long sail we thought we eat here and didn’t really check the reviews which now in hindsight ring very true. The menu is a bit misleading with a steak for two on it for 45 euros. I shared it with my daughter and we ordered it medium rare. It came well done and I thought ok let’s just eat it’s a reasonable price, 45 euros for it, well it actually says p.p. So we ended up paying 90 euros for an overcooked steak and some fried potatoes. If I would have known this wax 90 euros I would have send it back. For that price I would expect it to be cooked to perfection as ordered. I talked about it with them and it was obvious that I wasn’t the first one that fell into the trap. So please be warned…it’s a nice setting beautiful location but unfortunately also a rip off. Their portions for other dishes are tiny as well. We ordered ceviche too and really was minuscule….
De Gouden Bock ia a very nice restaurant; good waiting staff, lovely outdoor seating on the Dam square and a menu that is an excellent blend of bistro and fish dishes. With that said it does have a typical dutch (long) serving time, which locals know well but out of town guests may find unprofessional. Furthermore while it does offer a kids menu, it is a rather limited one, and thus nit the best fit for kids. Overall I would recommend this place for people who want to have a nice meal in the sun and are not in a hury to be somewhere.
