We had a lovely evening at this restaurant. The menu offered a wide variety of options at very affordable prices. The staff was friendly and the food was served promptly. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
"We had a wonderful experience at this pub, with a good variety of beers, delightful staff, and delicious homemade food. As soon as we walked in, the landlord made us feel right at home. We ordered our drinks and relaxed on the leather sofas next to the fireplace. The food came quickly and was clearly made in-house, flavorful, and affordable. The onion rings were especially delicious. The beer was well-maintained and the Tribute pint was one of the best I've had. Overall, I highly recommend this pub and will definitely be returning."
After a long day exploring Exmoor, my wife and I planned to have dinner at a pub in Bampton, but it was busy. We didn't expect to need a reservation on a Wednesday during the off-season. Luckily, we found plenty of space at Quarryman's Rest. We had a wonderful evening and the food was excellent. I ordered the lamb shank, which was one of the best I've ever had. My wife enjoyed her steak as well. The meal was not expensive or overly fancy. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Later on, a family with young children arrived, and the hostess was fantastic with them. It was heartwarming to see.
A friendly welcome and a surprisingly big restaurant area. A very good steak and ale pie good value at £10 washed down with an excellent local brew. Good sized portions, efficient service make this a good venue for meals on the hoof. Staying in the area a while so we'll be back for another visit.

Plenty of coffee. Dinner menu was staple pub food.
Nice place called as a couple passing through relaxing on our holiday, wasn’t too busy was just right
We had to travel to Devon to pick up my son's pooch as we're babysitting her for a few months. The perils of being a parent! Having driven all day from N Wales, we were looking around Bampton for somewhere for an evening meal and a quiet drink. Bampton has some posh and very expensive eateries, but none of these really appealed to us, so we wandered up the hill from our B&B to The Quarryman's and stuck our head through the door. What a lovely surprise! A proper pub with a roaring fire , comfy table to sit at , friendly landlord and locals, dogs welcomed and an unpretentious reasonably priced menu. Heaven! I thought such places had disappeared with the advent of the gastro pub and TV Chef brigade. We settled down in the lounge, had drinks to our table (local cider and a big G&T! , and ordered a curry and a ham egg and chips! Can't recommend highly enough.

Our experience of this place was not good at all. There were 5 older men sitting at the bar when we arrived who clearly didn't appreciate four adults and two young kids disturbing their early evening pint. One of them had a really nasty look on his face and said something about keeping the kids under control we'd literally just walked through the door. We ordered food at the bar and the order was given to the same man who walked off towards the kitchen! We really should have told them to forget the food and left at this point. Anyway, the food that came out of the kitchen was mediocre at best for example, my wife ordered a prawn cocktail which was presented in a large glass bowl containing a huge amount of prawns. The bowl and prawns were all warm as if they'd just been defrosted. Awful.
