The restaurant offers beautiful views, friendly staff, and delicious food. It is a rare find in the area, making it a great choice for a spontaneous lunch. We arrived just before noon and had the option of breakfast or lunch. Opting for lunch, we shared the prawns in filo pastry and chicken burger, which was a perfect size to enjoy with a glass of wine. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and enjoyed the food. We were surprised to see that they had high chairs and a kids menu, although it didn't seem like a family-friendly spot. One downside was the lack of baby change facilities.

I was pleasantly surprised when I entered this lovely restaurant with a stunning view overlooking 2000 acres. It was truly breathtaking, and I can't believe I only just found this hidden gem. The menu caters to all budgets, and I noticed many young families enjoying a laid-back afternoon. It can get quite noisy, but it's a great way to spend a day, afternoon, or even have a romantic dinner with accommodation available if needed.

We decided to have lunch here for my sister's birthday, although we had mixed feelings due to the average reviews on trip advisor. Surprisingly, the restaurant was quite busy and the view from the dining area was impressive. The wait staff seemed a bit inexperienced, but managed to get the job done in the end. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing with poor quality taste and presentation. It felt like something you could get from a fast food chain take away. The wine list was also odd, with prices much higher than what you would find in stores. Overall, we left feeling like we had paid a lot for a subpar meal in a nice setting. The surrounding areas were also littered with rubbish and building waste. The pond in front of the restaurant and aquatic creatures in the fishtanks appeared neglected. It was a shame as the restaurant had potential to be great.

Fantastic views, beautiful ambience. This restaurant is only new and has great promise. It is great to have a fine dining restaurant in Northern Melbourne. The owner/Chef David is very friendly. As they settle in it will be magnificent. they also do receptions

I am writing this review on the "A La Carte Restaurant in the Don Piero at Marnong". I didn't experience the B&B or reception centre. Our family went here for a family members birthday lunch.First and biggest mistake i made is not reading TripAdvisor reviews before booking. The menu's are well presented looks good not bad prices for a fine dining, i thought to myself. We started with drinks all good except for the Mai Tai Cocktail served in an ordinary glass not in a cocktail glass, we had seen six cocktails come out all in cocktail glasses. Upon questioning waitress why it's not in a cocktail glass "oh yeah thought it a bit strange actually" so went and put into a cocktail glass at our request (remember Don Piero is fine dining - check their website).Entrees come out in a reasonable amount of time (looking good) the main meals then come out about 20 minutes later and took 10 minutes to bring out 5 main meals bringing two meals at a time, we also had 4 children who had ordered pizza's (which Don Piero's offers in the Fine dining area). We waited and waited after some time we ask "when are the pizza's coming?" - Answer "on the way". We start eating as the children s pizza's were on the way? Three quarters of the way thru our meals we asked again "where are the pizza's, why are they taking so long?" Answer "That's a different kitchen, waiter should have explained to you they would take longer"Excuse me? we have had entrees and three quarters of the thru our main meals and we still have to wait? When you are paying $15 to $20 for pizza's which would in pizza land considered small to medium in size they would come out a bit quicker. We asked for the manager again and a different person come also a manager? All this manager was excuses and there is a reason for everything. When i finished my meal i went for a walk around to the "Pizzeria area" and there were two people there? every one was in the Al a Carte restaurant. To quote another TripAdvisor reviewer "wg t" Shambolic! management and service. The managers and staff are definitely not hospitality trained. On a more positive note the kitchen and the view is the redeeming feature of this so call "Fine Dining" experience. The food is as good as any bistro, restaurant, cafe that i have been to BUT it will not replace the Fine Dining Restaurants i frequent.I am not going to say "stay away" but instead i'll say do not make a special occasion your first visit and make your own choice on whether you would put your special occasion through that experience. We were going to go there for Father's Day but not anymore, if they cannot not handle 100 people on a Sunday afternoon enough said. One thing that is clear by reading all internet reviews on Don Piero's their service falls over as soon as they get remotely busy. Anyone that has been to the Crown Palladium and seen hundreds of meals come out and have 15 to 20 meals served in less than 10 minutes - that's what you call busy and tremendously organised. Closing summary - Not a fine dining restaurant - Read all internet reviews before going and then write your own -
