Hardee's - Michigan City

That's my friend. The staff was friendly during my visit, but I recalled why I hadn't been to a Hardee's in about fifteen years. While other chains have let their product quality decline, my appetite vanished after just the first two bites of the Grillburger, which I suspect is far from their best offering. It was quite disappointing—imagine a TV dinner that’s been neglected: cooked, forgotten, reheated hours later, and then left to sit again. I barely managed to eat a third of my fries just to have something in my stomach, but even that didn't sit well. I'm quite certain I'll remember why I'll be avoiding Hardee's for another ten or fifteen years.

I ordered a large ham sandwich, but the menu referenced an Eastern Burger. When I pointed this out, the girl said she would change it and suggested I mention it again. However, when I arrived at the window, she confirmed that it was indeed the "sink sandwich." When I finally got to my destination and opened the sandwich, it turned out to be the wrong one—the same sandwich I had already tried to correct. I didn't have time to go back, so I had no choice but to eat it. Unfortunately, it was very dry, though the fries were fresh. For over $11, I really expected better than a dry sandwich I didn't want in the first place.

I really enjoy Hardee's, but my recent experience was disappointing. The fries were terrible—soggy and not very warm. The sandwich was okay, but we asked for two shakes when we were ready to leave, and it took at least 10 minutes to get them. We had to ask twice. Overall, I was not impressed and won’t be returning!

The wait to order and receive my food was excessively long; in fact, the car in front of me ended up leaving without their meal. I felt sorry for the staff, as it's clear that this location is understaffed. However, the young man who took my order was friendly and apologetic. The sandwich I had was quite good, though it was a bit pricey. If they could get some additional help for the team, this place could easily earn a five-star rating.

I used to really enjoy this restaurant. I worked there years ago and the food was fantastic, but now it’s only average at best. It’s not what it used to be, and I’m unsure if I’ll go back. However, the staff was excellent—very friendly.
