We arrived late and yet they served us dinner with a smile, no problem. We spoke no German, a lovely man explained the menu in English to us. The food was better than excellent and the prices modest. Service excellent. Atmosphere probably the best I've experienced anywhere I've been. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. View all feedback.

The food was below average to say the least. The meat was not only dry and tough, it was grey. Leftovers heated up in old oil. The potato dumplings tasted like they came out of a packet. Terrific restaurant with fresh seasonal favorites. Classic Hessen menu. Dinner was fantastic. Good line of Schnapps as well!

I say 'taste'; they were rubbery, gluey and flavourless. In fact, I'm not entirely sure they can be classified as food - they could easily pass for some kind of little-known stationery or sports accessory. Despite complaining about the food twice the waitress didn't really do anything about it. Hungry as hell, I picked at it a little more, before giving up. I've had rough, fast-food chicken from a roadside van that was better than this. And for much much less money.

We were given a voucher for a Candlight Dinner and we made use of it recently, phoning ahead to book a table. The table was nicely set with table decorations, flowers and candles to make it a bit of a special occasion. There was a set menu with a choice of main course - a fish or chicken dish. While the food was not great the service was and we were made to feel very welcome by the attentive staff. A very enjoyable evening!
Michelstadt is very busy at the moment due to the carnival so most places in this lovely town are very busy with visitors but I still managed to find room in this beautiful Bavarian restaurant and have a delightful cold Bitburger beer and Brockwurst in their beer garden.Relaxing surroundings and excellent hospitality.
