What User doesn't like about Marina Cafe:
It appears the owner is chief cook and bottle washer. Food is not chef prepared. Frozen, canned and commercially prepared. Prime rib was tasteless and I can't figure out how he) cooked it to make it void of beef flavor. Horsey sauce was very good. They were turning people away, that walked up without reservations, and we were the only group 6) eating. A very weird, poorly run place. Thank goodness for the good compan... View all feedback.
They can't just drop by; a reservation is necessary!
Pro tip: Be sure to make a reservation! I'm not quite sure why, but it's definitely recommended.
The restaurant is run by a solo owner. When we arrived, he asked if we had made a reservation, but the place was mostly empty except for a group of four. I said we could stay but would have to wait about half an hour, which turned out to be our first mistake. There was no waitress, just the owner, Jimmy. I tried to understand since he had no help. The menu stated that soup or salad was included, but when we inquired, Jimmy told us it would be an extra two dollars. He also mentioned that he could only cook a limited number of shrimp at a time because his deep fryer was too small. As a result, he informed us that our dishes would be served five minutes apart. The food was decent, but definitely not what he claimed it to be. Jimmy frequently stepped outside for a smoke, which was unusual. Overall, it was a strange experience, and we will not be returning.
I’ve lived here for two years and have always passed by this restaurant with the little black and white police car out front. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but we finally made a reservation for a Friday night prime rib dinner. Wow, what a wonderful meal! The owner, Jimmy "Three Fingers," is a remarkable restaurateur. The restaurant has a charming and cozy dining room. We can’t wait to return. It's truly a hidden gem! If you're looking for great food, this is the best-kept secret around! Thanks, Jimmy, Peggy, and David.
--- **Dining Experience: Lunch** **Price Range per Person:** $10–$20 I had a delightful lunch at this restaurant. The atmosphere was inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The menu offered a great variety of options that catered to different tastes. I ended up enjoying a delicious meal that was both satisfying and reasonably priced. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good lunch spot without breaking the bank. --- Let me know if you need any further adjustments!
