Spontaneously went to Al Roccolo because our B&B was right next to the restaurant and didn't regret it at all. The view is beautiful, facing the vineyards and hills. The food was very good, we had the antipasti plate which is very big and some pasta. Both things were amazing.
The restaurant Al Roccolo is near the area of Valdobiadane (famous for its Prosecco). The food generally in this area has the staple polenta, grilled meats, salami, usually served in a standardised way. So after a while it can get a bit boring. However, Al Roccolo serves traditional Trevigiano food but with lots of creativity. Firstly the restaurant is beautifully decorated with all type of Venetian glass collected over the years a sort of artisan feel. In the Summer you can sit outside on the terrace which overlooks the rolling hills filled with proseco vines. For anti pasti, you have have a selection of small plates which consist of small salads, seasonal marinated vegetables and cold meats. And then for main, their speciality is Spiedo which in English means skewed meat (pork, chicken) which is so succulent. For desert there is a big table full of fresh made tarts and marinated exotic fruits. Overall, it 's a lovely place with really stands out over the other run of the mill restaurants round the area. The service is also very attentive and professional (which is rare in Italy these days).
