The restaurant was nearly empty, with all the waitstaff just standing around. I got home and realized I had a scare. Today, being Sunday, the lechon asado was the special for $12.99, but I ended up paying full price. When the food arrived at the table, it was lukewarm. I asked for bread, but it only arrived when we were almost done with our meal because they had burned the first batch. Plus, the lechon had a lot of fat on it.
The blonde waitress who served us was rude and dismissive. She almost didn't let us finish our meal, turning her back on us in the middle of our order. People like her should not be in the customer service industry.
First of all, the appetizer should always be served first. To make things worse, we noticed ants on the plate. At first, I didn't realize what they were, but as we started our meal, I saw a large group of sugar ants on the table—exactly the same ants that were on my plate. It was disgusting! I quickly called a server to report the issue, but he just walked away. After waiting five more minutes, a different staff member came to address the ant situation. I don’t understand why the first guy couldn’t handle it himself, leaving us waiting even longer. Overall, this was completely unacceptable and gross! I highly recommend you avoid this place. It’s not worth the stress!
Sergio's has become my favorite place for breakfast. This time, I chose the Skinny Breakfast from the La Flaca menu, while my partner had the Sergio's Country Breakfast. Although our server was busy, she was attentive and we really appreciated her efforts. Our coffee took a bit longer to arrive and was stronger than usual, probably because of the rush, but it didn't affect our overall experience. The lively atmosphere did not impact cleanliness; I still felt comfortable in a neat booth with sparkling silverware. I'm looking forward to visiting again, maybe during a quieter time. Hats off to the fantastic atmosphere and service at Sergio's!
